On Wednesday (27/3), PT Batavia Prosperindo Asset Management (BPAM) unveiled two exchange traded fund (ETF) products: Batavia IDX30 ETF (XBID) and Batavia SRI-KEHATI ETF (XBSK). BPAM has also teamed up with PT Mandiri Sekuritas to serve as a participating dealer for these two ETFs.

According to Lilis Setiadi, the President Director of BPAM, the introduction of these ETFs reflects the company’s commitment to catering to investors who seek products with competitive returns, diversified risks, and streamlined and transparent transaction processes. Setiadi further stated, “Both XBID and XBSK aim to mirror the performance of their respective reference index.” The selection of IDX30 as the reference index for XBID was based on its substantial market capitalization, which accounted for 59.1% of the total market capitalization on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). Furthermore, IDX30 outperformed the IHSG by 4.31% over the past five years (2014-2018).

BPAM is actively working towards implementing a sustainable investment process that takes into account social and environmental responsibility. As part of this commitment, the investment manager has chosen SRI-KEHATI as the reference index for XBSK.

Speaking of performance, the SRI-KEHATI index has demonstrated its capabilities, delivering a remarkable return of 59.31% during the 2014-2018 period. Lilis expressed optimism, stating, “We anticipate that these two indices will continue to deliver improved performance as the stock market progresses.”

To provide further information, XBID starts with an initial net asset value (NAV) of IDR 554 per investment unit, whereas XBSK commences at IDR 395 per investment unit.

The minimum purchase requirement for both XBID and XBSK in the primary market is either 1 creation unit or 100,000 participation units. In the secondary market, investors can acquire this ETF with a minimum investment of 1 lot. The inclusion of XBID and XBSK has increased the total number of ETFs available on the IDX to 26 products.

Riki Frindos, the Executive Director of the KEHATI Foundation, mentioned that the contribution from BPAM towards the use of the SRI-KEHATI Index will be allocated to funding a program aimed at conserving and utilizing local food sources suitable for the arid climate prevalent in eastern Indonesia, specifically on Flores Island located in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
