Ismid Hadad, a representative figure from Angkatan 66, was given a lifetime achievement award by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) on Wednesday, April 12, 2019, at the 2019 KPI Award ceremony. According to KPI, Ismid Hadad made a significant contribution to the Indonesian broadcasting industry through both his ideas and work.

Ismid was the Central Indonesian Student Action Unit’s (KAMI) Head of Information Bureau. He spearheaded the founding of several radio stations with ties to the conflict at the time through KAMI, including Radio Amanat Penderitaan Rakyat and Radio Arif Rahman Hakim. Additionally, he was initially planned to serve as the General Chairperson of PRSSNI.

The monopoly was destroyed as a result of the fight of friends, known at the time as Force 66, after which Radio Ampera and Arif Rahman Hakim were established. Following then, broadcasting evolved till it is now, when broadcasts contain more than just RRI and TVRI. Private TV channels and a lot of radio stations are present here,” Ismid stated after accepting the honor.

Additionally, he serves as the Chairman of the KEHATI Foundation’s (Biological Diversity Foundation) Leadership Council.

Ismid is really concerned with journalistic and broadcasting difficulties at LP3ES. He established Youth Education Radio in Jakarta to serve young people who had left school, the unemployed, and residents of slum regions as evidence.
